Mysuru is a city in Karnataka known for its grand Mysore Palace, its wide clean roads and its silk, sandalwood and yoga culture, at the foot of the Chamundi Hills. The climate is mild: summers (March to May) are warm, the monsoon (June to September) is moderate, and winters (November to February) are cool and pleasant. October to February is the best time to race, with comfortable mornings. It is about three hours by road from Bengaluru, with rail and an airport of its own.
