City insight: Udupi
Udupi is a coastal town in Karnataka, known for its Krishna temple, its cuisine and the nearby beaches at Malpe. The climate is tropical: summers (March to May) are hot and humid, the monsoon (June to September) is very heavy, and winters (November to February) are warm and the most comfortable. November to February is the best time to race. It is about an hour from Mangaluru airport, and the Konkan Railway stops at Udupi.
