The two-loop 180 km (112 mile) bike course takes athletes from Copenhagen through North Zealand with a mix of city center, coastline, forests, and countryside, including several spectator hot spots.
Copenhagen is Denmark's capital, a flat, bike-friendly harbour city with parks, lakes, canals and a famous food scene, and a very active running community along the waterfront and the Fælled park. The climate is mild and maritime: summers (June to August) are cool to warm with very long daylight, autumn is windy and damp, winters (December to February) are cold and grey with short days, and spring is fresh. Late spring to early autumn is the best time for racing, and wind is common. The airport has a direct metro link to the centre.
