Course Overview:
The event provides the following services at transition areas and venues:
Transition 1 is located east of the Binnenalster lake on Ballindamm street. You exit the water next to City Hall (Rathausmarkt). Run approximately 200m to transition and follow the path to the blue bike bags.
Take your bag with cycling equipment from the rack and change using the available benches or designated changing tents. Nudity is not permitted in transition and will result in a penalty. Pack your wetsuit and swimming gear back into the blue bag and hang it back on the rack. Do not mount your bike until you cross the mount line at the transition exit.
Dismount your bike before crossing the dismount line when entering transition at the end of the bike course. Place your bike in its designated spot and proceed to the red transition bags.
Retrieve your red bag containing running gear. Changing tents are provided; nudity is prohibited. Pack all cycling equipment, including your helmet, back into the red bag. Cycling shoes must either remain clipped onto the bike pedals or be placed inside the red bag before re-hanging it on the rack.
3.8 km one-lap lake swim through the Inner and Outer Alster starting at Jungfernstieg. 178 km two-loop flat bike course through Hamburg city center landmarks and out into the Vier- und Marschlande nature area. 42.2 km four-loop rolling run course along the Alster finishing at Rathausmarkt.
