Doha is the capital of Qatar, on the Gulf, with a long waterfront Corniche, a modern skyline and the museum district. The climate is hot desert: summers (June to September) are extremely hot and humid, winters (November to March) are warm and pleasant, and rain is rare. October to March is the best time to race, with early starts. Humidity can feel heavy near the sea. Hamad International Airport is a major regional hub.
